The sound absorption wedge is used for special sound absorption structures in the silencing rooms. It is usually divided into two parts, the point and the base. During installation, a layer of air is preserved between the wedge and the wall surfaces. From the point to the base of the wedge, the acoustic impedance gradually transits from the characteristic impedance of air to the perforated material impedance. Thus good impedance matching is for high-efficiency absorption of the incident sound.
